About Me

Overview

Hi! I'm Kobe Zheng, a software engineer from Queens, New York. I am focused on building production systems across data infrastructure and full-stack engineering.

I'm especially interested in applied AI, forward deployed engineering, consumer products, product engineering. Through my experiences, I've gravitated toward roles where I can own problems beyond the code. This means working with users and cross-functional teams to understand their needs, making technical and product decisions, and driving solutions from ambiguity through delivery. I enjoy being the bridge between the people using a system and the engineers building it.

I studied both computer science and game development, which probably explains why I care as much about how software feels to use as I do about how it's engineered. In games, it's all about game feel and the player experience. I think great software works the same way.

Outside of work, I'm usually building software products, learning something new, or experimenting with technologies that interest me.

Background

Growing up, I have always been a technology enthusiast who enjoys playing video games. It compels me to engage and interact with software and games. My love for those experiences have led me to pursue an education in computer science and a career in software engineering that enables me to build these experiences with the user, consumer, or player in mind.

I am a full-stack software engineer, and my experience has a strong focus on designing and delivering features for web and mobile applications. I thrive in the dynamic tech environment because I can quickly adapt to new technologies while having the opportunity to leverage software to solve real-world problems.

When I am not building software, I enjoy playing video games and sports like basketball and volleyball, attending live concerts, trying out new food spots.
